SO IVE BEEN A GUN HUNTER MOST OF MY LIFE IM 23 JUST STARTED BOW HUNTING SERIOUSLY THIS YEAR I TRADED FOR THE BOW I GOT ITS A OLDER MATHEWS ITS SET A 70LB/29.5" I CAN SHOOT IT PRETTY GOOD BUT I TORQUE THE BOW SOMETIMES TO THE LEFT BECAUSE THE DRAW IS TOO SHORT FOR ME. I YOUTUBED ON HOW TO MEASURE MY DRAW LENGTH AND TURNS OUT I NEED A 31.5"

WELL AFTER I KILLED A NICE 8PT WITH THE MATHEWS THIS SEASON I WAS HOOKED ON BOWHUNTING... SO I WANT TO GET A NEW NICE BOW FOR NEXT YEAR AND IVE BEEN RESEARCHING SOME AND THERE ARENT TOO MANY BOWS THAT ADJUST OUT T0 A 31.5

ANYONE ELSE CURSED WITH GORILLA ARMS AND CAN GIVE ADVICE ON A GOOD BOW TO GET

Congrats on your first bow kill--nicely done!!!

Measure your wingspan, stand erect with arms extended parallel to the floor with your palms facing forward and have someone measure from the tip to tip of your middle fingers and then divide that by 2.5. That will give you a good baseline but that is not 100% accurate. Your best bet is to go to a proshop and get measured by someone that is experienced in fitment. Congrats on getting in to archery and if I can help, let me know.

Nice kill!

I feel your pain when it comes to draw length. At 6'5, I was told I had a 32" draw length when the local bow pro measured me. I was also told that he didn't have anything in stock that'd fit me right. I learned that if you can find a 31" bow (MUCH easier to find than 31.5 or 32"), with a decently long release, you can make it work just fine.

I started with a Martin I wasn't crazy about, then ended up buying a Bear "Game Over" on eBay from a bow shop out of GA. I just looked and they still have some available. It's about $300 all setup, $265 or so for the bare bow. It's a 2009 bow, so you can get it for hundreds less than it originally sold for. So far, I really like it. Good luck on your search.

I'd go to a reputable bow shop and have them set you up. 31.5" is definitely a possibility but I'd have someone in the know check help you out.

You might want to check out the 2012 PSE Freak. It made with the longer draw archers in mind with a longer ATA and I heard it was a dream to shoot. The PSE Vendetta XL would be another one.

Yeah im 6'6 and thats what a guy told me at the bowshop 32" i figured with a release and a d loop i could get away with a 31" bow

A large percentage of folks shoot a draw length that is too long for them. I did for years. Once I got measured correctly and got a bow that fit me better, everything seemed to improve.

6'5" 32 inch draw. I struggle with draw lenght. I have adjusted to shooting a 30 in draw for years. But I am going to check out that PSE freak.
