New box call opinions

Hey guys, just looking to see if you guys have had any luck with some of the generic box calls. I'm looking to buy a new one but don't want to spend 100 dollars on one

Yeah the lynchs fool proof or champion is the ones I've been leaning toward, but I haven't even actually hear one, just basing it off reviews

I have a Primos box cutter I use. I like it. Been meaning to get a custom, just haven't got around to it

Mines sucking hind tit now to my Halloran short box but it served me well.

I just bought a spring creek walnut/maple. Sturdy built. I like custom calls better. 38 tyd for a short box.

I have used a promos box cutter also but I prefer a double sided box call so I can gobble with it if I feel the need to.
 
How does that spring creek box sound, I'm liking everything I've seen about the promos box cutter but like worm said the only downer about it is that it's a single sided box

It's fairly raspy but not over the top. Easily to control and get your high to low roll. Volume is great. Within 10 I was running consistent yelps and gobbles. Mike makes many wood combinations, so if you want a certain sound just give him a call and talk to him about it. I'm new with box calls so I'm learning. If your not a member on Old Gobbler join that forum also. Lots of call makers and experts over there. The top two reccomended box makers are SS calls and spring creek. I personally like the custom pieces and the craftsmanship. Also supporting small business is a big plus to me. Another thing about customs is these guys play each call before it leaves and it's 100% hand made and tuned.

I had some kind of Woods Wise mystic box call that works when wet. I don't really use box calls but I liked the sound of it. Not sure if I still have it or not. Very affordable call and based in TN I think.
