I usually say look at a horse by his record. UNC record was 8-5 this year. Time will tell.
UNC was 12th against the pass nationally.

Dont know anything about the guy but like was already said, UNC was 12th nationally passing defense. Heres his resume.

2015-present: North Carolina Defensive Backs Coach
2014: Nebraska Secondary Coach
2012-13: Air Force Associate Head Coach/Defensive Coord./Secondary Coach
2008-11: Air Force Co-Defensive Coord./Secondary Coach/Recruiting Coord.
2005-07: Air Force Secondary Coach/Recruiting Coordinator

Looks like he can do some recruiting. He is also from Atlanta which should be a plus in recruiting.

I think it's a very solid hire.

Wish I could say the same about the new strength and conditioning coach.

I said at the time with Butches future looking uncertain that Rocks pick up might be the best they could do and is probably a good one.

I guess the big question is why is Rock moving out of the NFL and take a chance with Butch ???

Does it really matter how they fared against the pass? The team's record was 8-5 and that's what you judge a DB coach on. Because he has so much control over the defensive scheme, special teams, offense, injuries, the schedule, etc, etc.

according to the link posted above Dude was top 10 in pass "D" in 2016 Quotes from link.

"10th-best passing defense in the NCAA in 2016" "The Tar Heels allowed only 11 passing touchdowns, the fourth-fewest in the NCAA"

Man did work at Nebraska also...

"Warren spent the 2014 season as the secondary coach at Nebraska. Under Warren's direction, the Huskers ranked fifth nationally in pass efficiency defense" "The Huskers ranked second nationally in completion percentage (48.5 pct.)"

Most of BDs posts just cause a puzzled look across my face any more :D !

If he can get the DBs to turn their heads when the ball is in the air, he will be a major upgrade :tu: !

What you said! I'm usually thinking "this guy has to be pulling our legs. He can't be serious." :rotf:

Come on guys, remember it is an honor for TN to get to play (wait for it) THEM every year. :rotf:
