Newest family member purchased up in Tuscaloosa while taking my daughter to University of Alabama to visit as a prospective student. I thought I was going to purchase the Benelli Black Eagle II with the 24 barrel. I did not like the way the Benelli felt when it came to the shoulder. Also the fiber optic bead near the muzzle was way too small for me. I happen to see the Winchester SX3 in the 3.5 magnum on the wall. It had a Tru Glo red dot sight mounted on the cantilever. It felt good and the price was reasonable so I purchased it. I have been using the Remington Specialty 870 turkey gun for a number of years and have killed many birds with it. Great gun but I wanted to switch to a semi-auto. Couple photos below:

Now that's a bonofide gobbler getter right there..
Congrats and great find. SX3 with 24" barrels are bout as scarce as hen's teeth...

You are right they are hard to find. It had just come in and even the clerk that waited on me did not realize they had it in inventory until I asked to see it. I went into Woods N Water intending to buy the Benelli but really like the Winchester SX3 better. The shotgun is made in Belgium which I think is a plus. I purchased a SX3 in the compact model a couple of years ago for my youngest daughter and I was really impressed with the quality of the gun.

I looked at one of those at the NWTF show. I was impressed. shouldered and pointed great. and I've always been a Remington shotgun man. there may be one of these in my future if I get back into the duck hunting.

I am like you I have always been a Remington Man as well. At one time the Winchester guns got real cheap and poor quality and were never considered in the line-up for a new gun. The newer shotguns are pretty nice. I like the SX3 line; I purchased the compact model for my daughter and really liked the way it shot. They did a good job on the felt recoil reduction, my daughter has a 12 gauge and she handles it well. I went back and forth between the Benelli and the Winchester and the SX3 won out. I kept trying to convince myself that the Benelli was a better shotgun but when comparing the two shotguns side by side the Winchester was my choice.
