I am on a tight budget this year but I got me a new remington 870 express super mag after a few months of saving.it is drilled and tapped for a scope.I hope I got a real good gun.what you guys think

Great. I have the sps-t super mag. You will like it. Wish mine was drilled and tapped. I have to use a b square mount.

The primos jellyhead and the Truglo chokes do well in my 870 supermag with hevi 5s and 6s. It also likes 3in remington Nitros for a budget shell or you forgot em and have to go to Walmart. I have a 1.5-4.5 scope on that gun. Killed a lot of birds with it, and so should you!

A jelly head and some longbeard #5 are not to bad on a wallet and will kill a lot of turkeys

X2. Probably as many turkeys killed with an 870 as anything out there. A lot of people like scopes/sights but your bead will do just fine. Longbeards appear to be the best thing going for an inexpensive lead shell.
If I was on a tight budget I would deep clean my barrel, screw in a .660 or .665 jellyhead, buy some #5 or #6 Longbeards, and shoot a few shots on paper.
Bought an 870 super mag last year and killed two birds with it. I put a kicks gobbling thunder choke in it and shoot 3 1/2" winchester longbeard #5''s. There's a pattern pic in the subforum above.
