New String?

I have yet to replace a strings on my bows, because I wax them really well and frequently. I sold a bowtech to a family member, I believe it is an 05-06 and has original strings and cables. I researved the string at the nocking point. The string looks good and the ATA is still on. So what symptoms/problems do you look for. How do you know when it is time for a new one.

Stretching around the cams has evidenced by wear in the serving. Also groups become erratic and the draw length increases.
