New style and starting to grow on me

Last couple of days been shooting my long bow a guy here locally makes and starting to like the really "old school" part of it. That would be that it doesn't have a shelf cut out in in. My hand is the shelf and after getting the sweet spot in my grip and the brace height it likes starting to like it better than my recurves with a shelf. Anyone out there shooting the same and how you like it?

I haven't tried it yet. thought about it. I've seen where some place a flappy piece of leather on the riser to mark where the arrow needs to be, half stuck to the riser, other half lays on top of the bow hand.

Hadn't head of or seen that before, but like the idea. Probably going to try it, got some soft leather laying around.
