Well opening morning will be my first turkey hunt and I have a spot where I have been seeing and hearing turkeys very regularly. If me or my son get a shot at one opening weekend what are the chances of killing another from the same small farm?

Still good.

I killed two within 50 yards of each other 3 days apart last year. I didn't go back to that place but one other time after that and they were still roosting there, but I set up too close and they flew down across the lake on me. :D

i have killed a bird in the same field 3 days in a row before. It really wont affect you like you think it may. IMO the key is knowing how many you can take off of a piece of property and how many you need to leave so the population can maintain a steady number.

Thanks for the info, I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions before season opens. Gonna try to pattern our guns this weekend. Have I mentioned that I am PUMPED?

Gotta go buy shells before the weekend and I shoot a Rem.870, from what I have heard I need to look for Hevi-13 #7's. Does that sound right?

thats the word. I have a box but have not shot them out of my Stoeger yet. I also really like the Winchester Xtended range #6 and some have good reviews on the Hevi Mag Blend.

we got three birds in 4 hunts the first two weeks of season last year out of the same blind on a 130 acre lease.I don't think it would be a problem as long as their are quite a few turkey there.

We killed 5 off od 94 acres last year and prolly didnt kill a third of the birds that use that farm

And a Jellyhead .660 choke. The Jellyhead .665 will do but only if you can't find a .660. And don't go to Bass Pro expecting to find the Hevi #7's. They don't carry them.

Great advice, thats the choke and shell I shoot out of my 870.
