This is really interesting. Cumulative NFL draft picks by school each year starting in 2000 and ending with this 2022 draft. Focus on certain schools, like Nebraska and Texas. Tennessee fans the lesson is be careful what you wish for. You opened the door. The Tennessee fall is right in line with the Alabama, Clemson, Georgia rise. Check out that rise of Alabama. Geesh. But Bama fans your team was bottom of the chart in 2001 (and not even on it in 2000 while Marshall and Jackson State were!). The rise starting around 2010 is just astounding. Ohio State. Steady as she goes my entire life, including the last 22 years, but only two national championships since 2000 despite numero uno in NFL draft picks! (Whether it's the Buckeyes, Browns, Bengals, Indians (I refuse to say the Guardians), it's rarely meant to be.) SMH

I seen a stat that said the state of Texas produced the most draft picks in 2022...but the University of Texas had zero players drafted

Thats not a good look lol

That is true. Texas had ZERO NFL draft picks this year. But their O line were each given something like $50,000 each by a "collective" and Bijan Robinson is driving a Lamborghini. Texas is in for a world of hurt when it joins the SEC.

Saw a tweet that Texas is basically Nebraska now. Since their 2009 Big 12 championship game, Texas and Nebraska are basically identical in W-L (Neb 82-68, Tex 83-68) and NFL draft picks (Neb 35; Tex 37). But Texas has recruited 17 5 stars and 158 4 stars, while Nebraska has recruited 0 5 stars and only 72 4 stars.

Maybe another sign UT got thr right guy? Heupel sent 5 vols to the NFL year 1...... Hooker and Tillman will be drafted next year with a couple more vols probably close to 5 again.

How many players did UT send to the NFL right in the heart of the Pruitt era? Looking at the 2019-2021 draft classes 3 year span........4 players

Ok lets look at the heart of the butch jones era 3 year span.....looking at 2014-2016 let's see 3 players drafted in 3 years two of them 6 rounders.

Both Jones and Pruitt had some decent recruiting classes. Just goes to show how bad the development of players was by those staffs. But weren't Taylor and Butler recruited by Pruitt (maybe by Jones if they were "Covid seniors"), but Velus Jones was a portal signing by Heupel I believe.

Dug a bit deeper on Texas. This draft included a lot of the "Covid seniors," i.e., 6 year players from the 2016 class. Players from the 2019 class had made their 3 year eligibility, so this NFL draft was of the 2016-2019 (4 classes). Texas recruiting was #7, #25, #3, and #3, respectively for those years. By my count, Texas had 11 draft eligible players for this draft, including a 5 star (Ben Davis, transfer from Bama), four 4 stars, and four 3 stars (one being Dicker the Kicker). I'm sure they had a fair share of transfers out after Tom Herman was fired, but two straight #3 classes in 2018 and 2019 and three picks in the 2020 draft, five in 2021, and none in 2022.

If Sarkisian doesn't turn things around in a big way this season, he'll be on the hot seat.

Sure some of Heupels players was guys Pruitt recruited I mean his only been at UT a year so didn't even have draft eligible players he recruited out of high school on the team.....look at like Cedric Tillman who was a nobody and exploded onto the scene under Heupel same with hooker who was a transfer The key is player development.

Speaking of jones and Pruitta recruiting classes as of right now 13 players that was recruited in that era are still in the top 50 highest ranked guys to sign with TN how many panned out? Or did anything
