Well I've been hunting twice this season and have been blessed to kill two nice birds.

This particular bird circled me on his way in and came strutting by me at THREE STEPS !!! He came in from behind me and to my left and I had to wait until he was in front of my gun barrel and the rest is history. 10 inch beard 7/8" spurs. Nice two year old bird. As you can see at 6 steps the Nitro's with the Jelly Head choke tube had no mercy on him. BTW this is my first public land bird in 11 years of turkey hunting.

Grizzly, thats as close as I've ever been to a long beard. It was crazy. I was starring right at his ole eyeball! My buckwing decoy worked though. he came out of strut to mount the decoy and thats when I let him have it :)

Dangit man, 3 steps! Did he ever gobble when he was that close??

I know how it felt hearing one gobble at me from 15 steps, I bet 3 steps would have given me a heart attack!!!

Sure was cool though!!!

I had 5 jakes gobble at once one time at like 7 steps and I jumped so bad I just knew they saw me! Gotta love turkey hunting!

I hate when they gobble that close to me. I get so excited. I know they are gonna gobble and I anticipate it, but I still jump!

Congrats man!
