TN beats KY for third time in three tries at home. First team to do that to Calipari. Down at the half after playing soft, Barnes lit a fire and we were the more physical team in the second half. It was aided by some questionable coaching by Cal, but we'll take it. The W makes the two choke jobs the past week a little easier to swallow.

Capped off a surprisingly exciting sports day. The FCS champisonship game was a great football game, LSU's buzzer beater to beat A&M, and the Titans second half charge.

well... i thought about it but i wasn't in the mood to defend the win or get bashed for the other 3 losses.
but yes it was a big win. thank you texas for coach barnes

Didn't get to see any of it... Always play KY hard at home. Good win for TN.

U didn't mention the buzzer beater for UF against former Vol coach Kunzo. :rotf:

Both teams played sloppy. Only UT played less sloppy in the 2nd half.

I told my wife y'all would come out blazing after halftime. This is the most uninterested team to me that Cal has coached at Ky.

Tn had what it had to win and that was experience. Experience kills talent all the time.

I know coach cal & even coach K a few years ago has won a lot of games with teams full of one & done players.

But Give me the team full of good experienced JRs & seniors over a team with really good true freshman that won't even be back next year.

Vols starting 5 all return next year right? Looks like they all sophomores & Jrs only senior on team is James Daniel who is a transfer, & comes off the bench still a good player.

Vols starting 5 next season will all be good experienced upperclassmen.

We usually have at least 2 sophomore or junior that kind of help out with experience but not this year. We have Gabriel and Sasha. Pretty much just 1 in Gabriel who's getting quite a bit of PT off the bench but he's still inexperienced in himself. I see at least 3 of these freshman leaving and failing at an NBA career. Reminding me a lot of the 12-13 season when they didn't even make the NCAA tourney.

Grant Williams will probably go pro after this year.

maybe, but i think they are a good chance he returns for his JR season.

He will probably prove me wrong but I dont think Grant is all about that money. He was being recruited by Ivy League before Barnes offered. His Mom works for NASA. I think he will get his 4 yrs of education before persuing a pro career. But like I said, he will prob prove me wrong. Lol

I like his game, but he isn't ready for the NBA, imo.

Barnes was right when he said he played scared in the first half the other night. He couldn't get a shot off against more athletic post defenders, and that's all he will see in the NBA. Hopefully, he stays another year and works on his game and his body.

Vols beat Kentucky...Vols drop in polls. Go figure.
