Anyone else experience this? Didn't hear the first sound off. I finally got onto a big flock with multiple toms at 11am but had no way to head them off and set up on them without busting em out made a decision to head back to the truck and try again tomorrow morning before heading to church

Same here. I hunted a block of woods where I know two old birds entered the woods yesterday evening at 5:30, but still did not hear a peep all morning.

Only a couple distant gobbles early at daybreak, today was almost dead quiet. Finally found a small flock

Cranking 25mph winds didn't stop them from blowing down the woods this morning up on the mountain. After a pathetic miss yesterday morning at Chuck Swan, a redeemed myself on a cranked up 2 year old at 10:20 this morning. Funny, even after killin him this morning, I can't shake the sickness of yesterdays miss. Hell, I still hadn't got over the one I missed last year yet.
I haven't got over any of the times I missed

Yep, didn't hear a peep all morning. First time I can remember that in a long time, and don't think ever in Tn. I had to be back at the house by 9, and with the silence and typhoon I really wasn't too upset about it.

Nadda on the limb. I finally got one to gobble about 9:30. He answered me twice, gobbled at a crow snd then got quiet. I thought he was coming but he never showed and never gobbled again. Struck another in a river bottom at 3:30. He also answered twice, gobbled on his own a few times, and then apparently vanished.

Same here....not a gobble to be heard anywhere. Walked the ridges from daylight till 12:30. Covered a lot of ground. Did finally call a hen up. First time in years without a gobble.

Could have been the weather. The past couple of rainy days followed by the cold front could have shut some up

Hunt just about everything

I had one a hollow over from where I was hunting that gobbled non stop from first light until I left at 11... Of course he was my neighbors new tamed turkey/pet. Other than that, not a sound. Can't remember the last time I didn't hear anything on a morning hunt.
