Finally!
I swear Fall turkey hunting is much easier, these birds just gave me fits. Saw the flock on my neighbors pasture, waited for them to cross the fence into my woods. But, they disappeared, again. Saw a real nice fox squirrel and almost took him, when I heard scratching down the hill. This small tom finally presented a good shot. His cartwheeling must have pulled out 5 tail feathers, but I found 3 on the ground. Plus he had a new tail feather coming in, still rolled in the sheath. Real lopsided fan. I think I'll just keep the individual tail feathers for any future fan repair.
Nice breast meat for the smoker.
