When I take the bow, I wish I had the shotgun (bird would be dead and I'd be tagged out). But I know if I take the gun, I will regret not sticking it out with the bow. An archery spring gobbler is a bucket list item that needs to be crossed off. Ive got a burning desire for an arrow in a gobbler with no blind or dekes. But I'd also like to kill a 4th bird and quit educating these public land gobblers with my bow, and start fishing more. Tough decision. Blew it twice, I'm thinking if I blow it 3 or maybe 5 times with the bow, I will pick the gun up again.

I'm with you, far too many years of butt kickings for me to watch one walk away because I tried to get "fancy" by using a bow
 
catman, I think you done jynxed yourself. Might as well frame that last tag and call it a year.
 
Do it, do it, do it......just imagine the feel of slowly easing the safety off, the tightening on the trigger.....boom.....bird rolls @$$ over head and is dead. Doesn't that sound good?

I don't understand the problem. You can wuss out and take the gun, but you know that if you do tag out, you won't enjoy it much because you gave up on the bow.

Every year, I have a list of things I want to accomplish, and unless I cross them off, it isn't as satisfying as it could have been. Memories of the things I did scratch off are what carry me through the offseason!

Take a day off and fish, and then get back out there with the bow and make it happen. You won't regret it!

BTW, those who take a bow gobbler without a blind or deke are at the top of ultimate accompishments as far as turkeys for me, because I know I will never do it.
 
Just keep hunting with the bow until the last few days and if u haven't arrowed one by then take the gun and punch your last tag before u have to eat it
