Nock Point Question

Ok I need a little help with nock point. I bought a bow square today and set the nock point 1/16" high in relation to the point where the arrow rests on the rest, but when my arrow is nocked the front of the arrow is up above the nock. Is this what I want or do I want rear of the arrow to be higher than the front or dead level?
 
I start with my nock point at 1/8 inch high above center line and have done this since I was 15 and have done it on everything from a compound to a recurve. 25 years later shooting a d loop and a drop away I still find this works. Now depending on a couple of things like shooting without a d loop or shooting with fingers it may need to go a little I mean a little bit higher. I prefer the tip of the arrow to be slightly lower than the nock. If you are shooting a drop away that works like the QADs and several others like it as to where you can bring the rest up in the locked but not chocolate chip cookie position and when the bow is drawn the rest rolls up into the cocked position, this raises the tip of the arrow around another 1/16 or so and will cause your nock point to be to low. So far following this has gotten me very very close to where I need to be. I always shoot a new bow or if put a new rest or anything that causes me to mess with my nock point thru paper to check and tune. Like I said this works for me. Several don't agree with me but this is what I have found that works. But I can tell you that a nock point a little bit high is a lot better than low especially the farther back you get. Thanks guys. So whats the point of a bow square? If I put the square on the string and and let it sit on the rest and put my nock point 1/8" high then my arrow point is still higher than the rear due to arrow diamter not being compensated.

I have a bow square that arrow screws into . Just reverse the arrow and set it on the rest , place the nock point or string loop on the string .
 
Keep in mind that the beginning nock point of 1/16"-1/8" high is just a guideline, after tuning it may end up anywhere from level to 1/4" high, or even higher in some cases�it all depends on the bow and the shooter.
 
Ok, so I placed the bow square on the string and laid the square right in the v of the rest as if it was the arrow. Then I took the nock off the arrow and pointed the tip of arrow away from the riser and aligned the bottom of the arrow to the center mark on the square and then lifted the bottom of the arrow 1/16" above center of square. Is this correct?

It is easier to place the bow square in the "V" and then take a nock and put it on the string where the 1/16th is in the middle of the nock and then either tighten the top of your "d-loop" on top of the nock at that point, or install your nock point.
