Normal Doe behavior?

I've seen a lot of does urinate over the years, but never like what I saw tonight. Two does came by my stand at the same time. I saw each of them squat low, with their rear legs pressed together and urinate down their hocks like a buck would. When finished, they each licked both of their tarsal glands for a minute or so. Is this normal, common behavior? Is it any indication of estrus?

Normal. And yes, they do urinate over their tarsals more as they get closer to being in. That is why during the rut a doe that is in will have stained tarsals. Once they are done/bred, they will lick them clean over a period of time.

If they were rub urinating over a scrape near your stand, would continue hunting that stand.

It wasn't in a scrape, just on the leaves, but they we're definitely scrubbing the tarsals together and peeing down them. Can't be a bad thing.
