He's had a heckuva run but what I'd really like to know is how much recruiting actually goes on to get kids there. I've heard it does but no first hand knowledge. The lady that we deal with on our lease lives there and told me all the middle schools run the same offends he does so that they know it by the time they hit high school.
As for Rankin he had a great gig at Riverdale but saw the writing on the wall and left. Murfreesboro went from two public high schools (Oakland was the other) to now there are 4 (added Blackman and Siegel). The thought was it would dilute the programs at both Oakland and Riverdale but what's happened is all four are pretty dang good and Rutherford county is the SEC of high school football in Tennessee.
