I've killed one turkey, a nice double bearded one. It's not for lack of trying, but those who have already ended their season, do you have any regrets knowing there's a month left? I mean it's gorgeous in TN right now. I love spreading this thing out. I would love to kill my third turkey on the last day.

Congrats!

I'm never done, even if I don't have a tag left. My last hunt in TN had 3 of us set up early under a couple hammering toms. None of us even had a gun. Hunt was just as much fun.

That being said, I am getting a little more fatigued at this point. I probably have hunted at least parts of 25 days since Mar 15th, put close to 4500 miles on the truck, and just under 90 miles on foot.

Haven't even heard a gobble in
South MS in a month, yet still managed to get up early and check 13 or 14 spots yesterday morning all before church. This is the part of the season that becomes almost robotic for me. I need a gobbling turkey to break the monotony!

I honestly HATE when I tag out early (which is pretty common). Im fortunate enough to have a fantastic job that allows me to hunt a lot during April and a wife that understands my passion so also encourages me to get out as much as I can.

However I have a 13 year old thats getting more and more into it so even though Im not going as much or with a gun I still have plenty of reason to hunt. I still have some buddies that are not on the board so ill go with them more as well.

Having said that Im SURE my wife is happy each year when Im done early so I can get back to taking the kids to school every morning instead of her doing it lol.

I've got one tag left and honestly haven't felt pressured about filling it. Been spending time with the family and doing a few things around the house. I'll get back out and I'd love to tag out, but if I don't, I've had a great season and a ton of fun! I just feel fortunate to have been able to enjoy being out there the times that I've had an opportunity. So yes, I'm super happy!

No pressure and not tagged out. I have been tagging along with others and taking a few along the way. One tag left for a special hunt. If it doesn't happen I will be satisfied with the season I have had. I would still be out with others if I had tagged out though.

Congrats!

For me, it is always a constant battle between Spring fishing and turkey hunting. Most of the time, I will turkey hunt the mornings and fish the afternoons. So it really doesn't bother me to tag out early. I also have a 13 yo son that goes every time I do as well so the chances are lower that both of us are tagged out early. We did tag out a few years ago with a week or two left. I currently have one tag left and him two. This past weekend, we decided to go to Reelfoot Lake fishing for the first time instead of turkey hunting.

I'm tagged out and it kills me not to be able to go. Especially when I'm standing in the yard listening to one gobbling his head off. On the flip side, got plenty of time to get my daughter on a bird.

I've got one tag left in TN and one in KY. I would hate to be done, as I love hunting late season when everything is green and it's warm. Been working more and if I hunt I'm being pretty picky about what bird I mess with.

Personally, I am very happy to have been blessed to kill my limit for the first time and I have memories (and some video) for life. Tagging out early allows me to video for my brother if he wants, check trail cams, walk and prep the deer lease, fish etc...Not going to sit on the couch until deer season..lol..But, I get what you are saying. Since turkey hunting is 3 and done vs deer where you at least have does after you buck out, do you keep a tag for the rest of the season. With unlimited opportunity to hunt, I may have chosen to hold on to the last one with the possibility of not killing another bird. I have limited time to hunt so I never planned to hold a tag back. just my personal choice. When deer season rolls around, I will shoot my allowed bucks on the first 2 days of bow season if the opportunity presents itself and they meet the criteria I have set. That's just me though. Great question though.
