Wow, there are some great articles out there showing just how inept these guys were.

Here is one quote:

We'll never know whether any of that could have happened, though, because the same officiating crew that botched a Duke-Miami call years ago used Thursday's game to make one of the biggest blunders in the history of college football.

And Tennessee had to suffer for it.

It was a bad call. They have always happened and always will as long as humans are involved. Bad calls sting bad in close games, notsomuch if a team is up by multiple scores. Those points are insurance against bad officiating.

As a Purdue grad I can only say go Boilers!

Note: I haven't seen the game or the play so I can't say if it was a bad call or not.
This is the play. Obviously a touchdown as his body never touched the ground and legs still turning when ball crossed the goal line. Whistle was blown later. That said one play doesn't beat you but when it's this critical and at the end of the game in OT it gets magnified a ton and is what everybody remembers. Refs blew it plain and simple but it is what it is.

Yep that looks like a bad call, refs blew it, but it didn't cost UT the game. Bad calls happen each and every game.

It wouldn't have made me mad if they had made the right call and Purdue lost either. I don't get worked up over football (or any other game) anymore...well, I DO still love me some golf once in awhile!

Not only was it a touchdown but there were terrible calls the entire game. How bout the one where Tillman ran by the defender and the only thing the defender could do was to grab his jersey to hold him from making the catch, had his jersey stretched 3 feet and no call, that would have been more than likely a touchdown.

They could have kicked a field goal and possibly still been in the game but I understand all or nothing also Could've would've should've
