Haven't been out to listen much, and it's been drizzly when I have, but I haven't heard or seen hardly anything yet this year. As I drive around, where I usually see birds in pastures/hay fields, I have yet to see one bird. I know that there were tons of birds on a coupe of my farms in the fall like usual, but I'm getting kinda worried about the rumblings of something going on with the turkey population. I'll get out tomorrow morning and listen before work and might even hunt for an hour before work Saturday if I hear anything, so we'll see.

Still bunched up in some areas and are still on their winter patterns, staying in the woods most of the time. They are starting to break up a little and get out more.

That's what I'm hoping! I know that "spring" is way behind here.

really hard to tell right now due to all the rain and poor weather recently. Its making a lot of them stay bunched up because of it. Just need a few warm days and sunshine to help speed it up

Had 12 in my next door neighbors yard today and while jogging they crossed the road in front of me so I recounted and there were 17. Mostly hens but think I saw 2 or 3 red heads. Haven't been to where I'll hunt but places I normally see them while driving show they're still grouped up pretty good.

They have noticeably started breaking up within the past week in Williamson county. Still some bunches of em but a lot more singled out birds and smaller groups

Population has been on the steady decline for over a decade. Get yours while they are still there. May not be any left to hunt in several areas in another 5 years. I'll spend the entire day afield tomorrow and pass on what they are up to. Hope to have 3 or 4 roosted for me and my son Sat am

Same thing I'm seeing also in Rutherford and Davidson Co. Saturday's weather should have them talking good!!!

There has been a tremendous die off here in Clay county. They died between August 2017 and the end of September 2017,they died from a disease called black head!!A few turkey's survived the outbreak, maybe they will re-populate in the next 5 or 6 years!!

This is what I'm seeing too. I heard several this morning before the wind got up and they're all back in the timber. Usually I'm starting to see them showing off in fields by about now.

Always a few Gobblers to hunt in these rugged East Tn mountains. Pretty good flock here around the house as well, but i don't mess with them.
