With a minute left in the first half, Tennessee is getting bludgeoned by Notre Dame 31-7. Notre Dame has the ball at the six yard line fixing to score another touchdown when Holtz calls a pass play that Rick Meyers takes a sack on forcing a field goal attempt. UT blocks the kick and returns for a touchdown making it 31-14

What happens next?

Johnny Majors fingers his hair to the side and straightens his tie, then Andy Kelly leads the comeback for the ages. When that ND kicker shanked it my sister jumped up in the bed(she had the flu) and hit her head so hard on the ceiling that it made an impression!

UT comes all the way back to win it by blocking another field goal attempt on the last play of the game. UT must have had 5-6 turnovers one being a pick-6, and Notre Dame dominated on the ground. Great game, just watched it this morning on YouTube No Huddle. Kinda nice to watch a whole game in 45 minutes, no commercials and no delays!

I think Lou holts called it the worst day of his life.

Is that the one that John Ward originally called the kick good, then corrected himself?

Just looked it up.

John Ward, as you can imagine, broke the hearts of those listening back home when he initially announced that the kick was good. Once he realized that Notre Dame kicker Rob Leonard's 27-yard boot just missed to the right, he reassured everyone that the kick was "NO GOOD

Its nice to have a memory you can hold onto once every 20 years. I feel for you. :)

Y'all have had a good run, but all things come to an end....for us and for y'all. It's morning in Knoxville and the sun is setting in Tuscaloosa. It won't be long till y'all are looking back to the good old days.

That was one of the biggest comebacks in football, I remember leaving the tv in 2nd quarter because of how game was going and going hunting, listened to John Ward in treestand, unbelievable ending
