Haven't got to hunt as much as I usually do but was able to get out this morning and was done before 7am. It was light out before he gobbled on the roost, luckily I was already within 100yds but could hear hens also. After he flew down he went away from me at first but after a 5 min quiet period he gobbled really close. 3 hens came in to my cutting on a glass pot call my father n law turned for me on his lathe and he was in tow. He gobbled no less than 75 times in 30 mins and would not come out of strut for nothing. I had to shoot him strutting at 35yds even after whistling and saying hey turkey lol. 10.5" beard. Spurs were 1 5/16" and was 24lbs 12oz. One of my best birds ever and only 2oz less than the bird I killed on opening weekend. I have never killed a turkey over 23lbs before this year. The pic is of my nephew with him and was hunting nearby with my brother.
