Personally I think it gets worse by the year... Used to be a lot of custom call makers there but not so much anymore.. Prolly just as many if not more duck calls there... If I wanted furniture I'd go to furniture store, same for jewelry, clothes, jerky, chip dip, etc.. Thing has done got along ways from its roots!!!

I did have a good time talking to Brad, Lon, and Stumpy. Also had a good visit with my friends from JEBS.

There's still an overwhelming amount of turkey calls...played around with some halloran calls too... It is annoying when some dude starts honking on some extra loud goose call. But I like walking around looking at stuff.

Agreed. Trying out a turkey call is useless when the guy on one side is honking his brains out while the guy on the other is quacking you back to the bus.

I think the custom call guys are still there, unless you look for them by name, they are just tucked into small booths and get lost.

I do like seeing old friends that have booths year after year.
For fan and beard mounting placques, check out Custom Barnwood Placques at booth #1124. A TN business.
Husband and wife team from Pulaski.

My guess is with web forums and Internet sales they have no problem getting their names and calls known. That with the cost of a booth at the convention I'm sure keeps lots away.

Yup, use to love going each year and now I haven't been the past 2 just because of that.

This isn't turkey related but I finally got to meet Troy Landry and get a picture with him and Jacob. Always loved the king of the swamp. I think they were at the redneck blinds booth.

Very cool. I've told my wife how we had bigger gators back home in south Mississippi than most they catch, simply because hunting them wasn't legal yet. Still, it takes some real cojones to pull that line, not knowing what exactly is on the other end of it.

I really enjoyed it. Got some Halloran and gooserbat mouth calls, a houndstooth walnut/aluminum pot call, and some camo. I hated not to see more of the "little guys" there though. I admit it is very difficult to actually listen to calls.

yea I tried a couple of the holloran calls and had to hold them to my ear. I love crystal calls though. Wish I'd had the money. I did spend $50 on an Ol'tom pair of pants, and also got a mask, so my tree trunk turkey camo set is pretty much complete now -

It is hard not to spend more money. I bought one of Hollerans new slate over glass in wenge and maple call. It's very nice. Wanted some new camo but have other stuff I gotta buy first.
