I have my greens in the pot -should be ready to hold a simmer in a minute or 2. Rendering bacon for the peas now. I'll do the corn bread just before dinner so that is hot out of the oven. I'm going to try bypassing the vegetable oil for Pork lard in my cornbread recipe.

this Looks so good

The amount of fat in this meal is almost incalculable [emoji106]. I like to keep my greens and peas separated on the plate, but I do eat them together during the meal. Washed down with a local Black Lager.

Re: NYD Peas & Greens Thread

Mrs. TAFKAP found this hippie vegan recipe that I borrowed inspiration from. Obviously, my peas & greens are most definitely ANTI-VEGAN, but the idea was solid. I can't emphasize how life-changing the hot-sauce tahini was, and how well it all worked together. Southern style peas & greens, plus Mediterranean tabouleh and the tahini sauce, plus a grilled pork tenderloin & cornbread. Weird combo, but incredibly delicious (and filling). Here's the link....although the hot sauce tahini recipe is about all that I used from it. http://www.isachandra.com/2012/12/hoppi ... ot-tahini/
