The gun is shooting so off point of aim that at 40 yards you cannot find the center of the pattern on a piece of posterboard. I tried two different ported chokes and switched from top barrel to bottom. Nothing really helped. Any ideas?

Here are mine:
1. Clean the gun - needs to be done, but I don't see this making much of a difference
2. The chokes did not seem to be screwing in the whole way - could this be the problem?
3. I have a piece of junk gun

For those of you who use an over/under, does yours pattern true to point of aim?

Mine does; both barrels.

The chokes not screwing in the whole way may definitely be contributing to the problem so maybe you could try reseating them.

Are you shooting a bead sight? Off the posterboard at 40 though...that's way off. :(

Last year, it was consistently 8 inches high and 8 inches with the top barrel. I killed two birds with it last year by aiming 8 inches low and 8 inches left.

Today, the bottom barrel was 4-6" low. The top barrel was high and right, but not very consistent. I shot until I had no shells left and couldn't find a choke/load combo that I am confident in.

Its not uncomon for lower end guns to have the poi different on both barrels, you need to bench rest the gun and pattern at 13 yards.. that just seems to be the magical yardage to use, this will tell you exactly where you are shooting, dont shoot off hand... sand bag it if your serious,, you might think you can off hand it because its a shotgun but beleive me its easy to pull the shot.. make sure your lining the beads up like a snow man or a figure 8.. press your cheek hard to the stock.. fire at a different target for each barrel.. this will get you going..
