Are the size of a squirrels ear.... Ain't that what the old timers say is the time to be turkey hunting?

I'm working all day today and also tomorrow until 3 pm. So y'all who are jealous of my mid-week hunting, I am at work all day while y'all get to hunt. I like the schedule though. Gonna try Sunday evening to find a bird. Want to go Monday but not sure with the rain. Good luck yall

Wait, old timers aren't always right?

It's got to be something in the air.

I DON'T CARE!!!!!!!!

I've actually always heard the squirrels ear bs with regards to blackberries. IMO all that sort of stuff is complete garbage. Turkeys are crazy and everything is constantly changing and I mean minute to minute fast.

One thing is sure if you're not out there killing them is very hard

nothing is absolute but you have to admit that generally speaking, the beginning of green up is a good time to be in the woods turkey hunting. May be crappy some years and some places but usually that's a good time to hunt. Around here the hunting has been getting real good after the first week of silence and nonexistent birds.

I do like the initial green up, but I've had pretty equal success from winter type woods to the jungles of mid may. Personally I have success in all wood phases, and love the late season jungle stuff the best

I think I will stick with what the ol timers say.... Harold Knight and David Hale say when the oak leaves are the size of a squirrels ear..... I'll go with that... They have forgot more about turkey hunting than most all of us put together, and that includes that youngster named Setterman!!!!! :)
