The first weekend hunt at Oak Ridge was warm and windy, but still some deer killed.

Wondering how this past weekends second hunt went since the weather was a lot better.

Post up if you hunted

Buddy of mine brought this one home Saturday from down there…..

For me personally it was the worst OR hunt I've ever been on, just never got in them. Saw one yesterday finally and took some meat home. For MANY, it was a fantastic hunt, saw several huge bucks at the station. Congratulations to all that harvested, especially those that got a big one. Was on the very first OR hunt as a teenager and drew for this season at 53yrs old, those two seasons produced many top caliber bucks. Unless they have another closure for an extended amount of time, another opportunity like this might be a long ways off. I can say this from the talk I heard, the DOE wants the deer population bottomed out, they are not interested in quality bucks. There will always be some great bucks come out of there, just not this many.

They are only.interested in reducing deer, car collisions.

our group (5 total) saw 9 total deer sat and sun. i had a giant 10pt chasing a doe but could never get a shot, the other deer saw were some does and small bucks. weather was great but acorns everwhere so they didnt need to travel far
