Debating on going to oak ridge for my draw hunt dec 10th/ 11th or going back to ft. Campbell. Just hope oak ridge is what everyone talks about

I've never stepped foot on the place I've just heard all these stories about all the deer and big bucks

That's why the scout day is so important, have several spots to fall back on incase someone beats you to a spot.

I drew the zone 2 archery hunt (3 antler less deer 1 bearded turkey). This will be my first quota hunt ever. I don't have a treestand to hang and I also want to stay a little mobile so I'm planning to hunt from the ground. Maybe use a camo meet for some cover.

Thoughts? Bad idea?

Haha! Way ahead of you. I've already experienced that this year! After tagging out on the second day of gun season in MN, I had a huge 10 pointer ten yards from me. I swear they know when you don't have the appropriate tag.

My thoughts exactly. I look at each hunt months in advance to block those days off.
