Houston just announced Major Applewhite as their head coach.

Houston women can feel safer and Bammers can rest easy knowing Joey Freshwater is still in town.

Now I could see Lane heading to LSU.... Or maybe USF. Strong is getting looked at there as well.

I think Lane lands at LSU. Charlie Weak probably has his choice of USF or Western KY.

Where does that leave Les Miles? Baylor? I would love to see him at Western.

Meanwhile, Art Briles cant get a jr. high school gig.

I think Lane lands at LSU. Charlie Weak probably has his choice of USF or Western KY.

Where does that leave Les Miles? Baylor? I would love to see him at Western.

My question would be WHY???

I agree I think he should stay but I think he wants a change.

Saban rises him to the level of play and record he has never seen before. That should be telling him something.

This is football. If he wants to learn about lessons in life and have his hand held he probably SHOULD go elsewhere. If he wants to learn about football he is in the right place.

Kiffin has worn out his welcome at Bama. Saban and/or Bama have covered up non team related problems more than once. Nick don't care much for his shenanigans.

Plus...LSU would not really be a lateral move. If he can win a title somewhere without Saban, that looks much better on a resume... Especially if it's in the same conference division as Saban.

He's been with Saban for 3 seasons. He's not going to learn a lot more from him. National titles as a OC aren't exactly Lane's top goal in life.

Besides, Saban isn't exactly Mr. personality and 3 seasons is probably all Lane can stand of the jerk.
