I may regret this but looking for opinions.....I just can't decide or really invasion it yet

SO i am sending my 20 in to get cerakoted (got a deal i could not pass up on it) and have pretty much decided what colors i want to do it in, i just can't decide if i want to do the Rib to match the stock or leave it solid to match the barrel.

So this is an example of the color combo i am going to do. Its Patriot Brown and Graphite Black. I am actually using the guy that did that one which i highly recommend (Black Dove Customs out of KY)

so here is my gun...the difference in mine will be on the 2 solid lines that run from the forend, through the receiver and down the rear stock i will do opposite colors. So the double lines would be brown on the stock parts and black on the receiver.

what i can't decide if is i want the rib to go in black or just keep it in brown. I really want this to be simple and clean but i want it to have just a little pop so show off the lines of the gun and to make it stand out just a tad. Im not sure if the rib part will be to much and make it clutter or if it would blend nicely into the whole concept.

obviously i am way over thinking this but for those that know me know this is how i roll and i am VERY particular about my stuff!!!

it depends on who you use and how many colors you want on it and how much detail but it usually is less then dipping and has a wide variety colors to choose from. The more i read about it and its benefits the more I like it.

Rico from Black Bird is who i went with as i have a buddy that used him and was very pleased. The turn around time is super fast and he is awesome to deal with on the phone! Give him a call and just ask him some questions. Tell him i sent you his way and he may be able to hook you up.

I had no idea this could be done in different colors. To me it's better than camo because it never goes out of style. Those mid 90's camo dipped guns that looked so awesome then are kinda goofy looking now.

I vote keep the rib the same color as the barrel, but would like to see a pic of one with a different color rib too.

I'd keep it the same color as the barrel, but that's my opinion and you know what they say about that! Who knows, guess I'd have to see them side by side really. Might look pretty slick mixed up. At the end of the day it's your investment, and the only one that its got to make happy. There, hope I made it easier for you! :D

Why would you want to put anything on it, those guns cost more than they are worth anyway. The gun is matt black, it will not spook turkeys and besides if you oil your gun after every use it will not rust. Don't make any sense IMO, waste of hard earned money

Haha ok bud thanks.

Ain't got anything to do with spooking game. I like what I like and I like to be hard on guns. I don't care to clean them or oil them eveytime I take then out. They go through mud and rain all season long so why not protect it with the best protectant made currently. "Worth" is relative to each person. You prob do stuff I would consider a waste but it's something you felt was worth it or you wouldn't do it.

I looked it up and was surprised by all the colors they offered. There may be a Cerakote gun in my future. Did you send yours to Kentucky?

Yeah black dove is in KY. There are other places around here but I had some buddies that used his services and were more then pleased so I knew what I was getting in him.
