Pictures aren't the best and I don't have a broadside picture of this deer. He looks to be 4.5+ to me, but his horns are not impressive to say the least. I guess maybe he going down hill. What are yalls thoughts?

He chowed down for close to an hour in that grain sorghum field he is walking into in the picture 2 weeks ago. That picture was actually taken as I watched him walk straight into the field. The grain sorghum was head high on him and he would disappear here and there. I never could see his body. He came in as close as 25 yards but I couldn't see his body to even think about shooting. Big yote came out right at dark and scared him off. He was limping bad and you can see his front foot is swollen pretty good. I guess its time to knock the grain sorghum down some.

Any sign of EHD in your area? Sloughing hooves is a symptom and would explain the limp.

None that I've seen. The foot issue seemed to only be on the one front hoof.

I wont argue that he big and mature, but I doubt he is going down hill. usually the horns will look real blunt and blocked off and his look sharp and bladed. he is pretty. We have a buck on cam we call "squatty" we have pics of him for 3 years now. The past 2 he has been a big bodied 6 pointer with a small rack with his tines turning inward, and we all thought he would be a good one for the kids to shoot. Well this year he is even fatter and his rack has that same shape but he now sports 10 points and its a really unique rack. I say this because the buck in your pic looks like him last year.

maybe its just me, but I don't think that deer is fully mature. The camera angle is deceiving, I think its a cointoss between 2.5 and 3.5

I agree, does not look to be any development in the shoulders.
