My wife is wanting to turkey hunt on Saturday and my private farm is too far to drive for the amount of time to hunt Saturday. I've never hunted either for turkey, and only hunted cheatam twice for deer so I'm not experienced enough about either place.

Which place would be better to hunt for turkey? I'm not trying to ask for anyone's honey hole or anything I just would like pointers, or advice on spots to try to get my wife a bird.

I don't know much about OH WMA although I don't live far away, but Cheatham has a lot of land to find birds on. If I were to hunt Cheatham, I would at least go there and scout a little bit rather than go in the "blind" on Saturday.

OH is mostly accessible by boat, you may want to consider that.... I have not hunted either, but I know Wilson co (I think most of OH is in Wilson) has a lot of turkey. However from what I've heard you have to be careful as the land is narrow strips broken up and surrounded by private land and the land owner's don't take kindly to you crossing onto their property, even if it is not marked well....

We have a canoe that we will use and probably get to a spot on old hickory I looked up on Google earth. We will probably paddle out at first light and try to locate a bird at that spot. That way if it turns out to be a bust we just turn to fishing.
