If you could only hunt one week in TN (Sat-Fri) and that was it, what week would it be? Base your answers on past success, the hunting conditions you prefer, or what have you, but just answer one week.

Answers can be first, second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth. Add an explanation if you like, but choose the one week you would hunt if that was the ONLY week you could. Just curious as to what everyone's preference is since we are so spread out over the state and we have difference of opinions/preferences.

Fire away.........

first week.At my lease the birds gobble less every week.By the 4th week you have to hunt them like deer.

I'm a newbie to turkey hunting and being this is my "freshman" year of turkey hunting, I'm just grateful to be out therebut its frustrating to say the least! Great question!

i hear more birds during the 3rd week usually. this year is different. i would probably pick the 1st week if i had to choose. 3 times as many birds are killed the first week than the 2nd.

Last week of the season. If I have a tag left I always have good hunts during the last week of the season. When the hens get on their nests by 10 a lonely bird will come running at some point.

If everyone was having to play by the same rules..... the 3rd week. If season was open prior to that 3rd week then the very 1st week. Simply because the numbers of gobblers get drastically drastically reduced around here over time. We have so many people drawing disability and hunting every day with disregard to the limits that you need to get on them quick.

3rd week for me. I have killed the majority of my birds during the 3rd weekend through the next weekend and if the way the bird I was working this morning acted is any indication I feel real pumped about friday morning through sunday evening.

I vote last week as well. All the hens are bread, and most guys have either given up or tagged out. The birds just seem to be a little easier to hunt at the very end.

first week, least pressure and most birds ready to do their thing.... I hunt public land and one of my spots went from awesome to almost nothing in just a couple weeks this year. However I'm still finding birds that are killable but nothing like the first week.
