Ok so the other day we got into a tight spot due to our boat motor quitting on us.
Long story short we lost prime on the fuel line.
I tried to pump the bulb up and it wasn't doing anything. I mean NOTHING.

The bulb and fuel line are practically brand new but I know anything can happen.
When we finally got home I went to walmart and bought a new bulb. Literally half of the price of the bulb and hose together for just the bulb. :livid:
Took the old one off, went back to town to buy hose clamps. :bash:
Put the new one on and pumped it up. NOTHING.

The only thing I could think of was the hose that did the actual suction of the gas from the tank had fallen off or something.
I pull the black square piece off and sure enough there was a male end about an inch long and that was it.
Couldn't see into the tank due to the color of the gas / oil mixture.
Pour 5 gallons of gas & oil out into a bucket. :(

Find the hose and get it out with a coat hanger.

Now here is where it I was like REALLY???
Below is a picture of what mine looks like.
The male end with the red line by it is about an inch long.
So that tells me it would have to slip at least an inch before it would come off. Right? uh huh.....
The end that goes down in the tank has a screen on the bottom of it to act as a filter I guess.
The "foot" that is circled in orange literally rests ON THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK when the assembly is in place. :?

The hose itself is very rigid, very little bend at all unless you really apply some pressure.
So, if the male end is 1" long and the feet rest on the bottom of the tank, you tell me HOW that came off?
Beats me but it did. :)

Oh and no, there was nothing wrong with the bulb we took off. :)

Glad you got it figured out

Yep, got it all put back together bought new gas and fired it up.
Ran like a sewing machine.
Idle, forward, reverse, idle.
Rev up and everything.
Man hooked to it, took it to the watershed and it wouldn't hit a lick.
Never seen nothing like it.

Biggest problem is it is a pos I think. :D
