South Florida (SR 70 South) season opens today. Ol' cowhunter71 should already be on a long-legged Osceola by now, working him to the gun. Looking forward to a field report and kill pic in a week or so. No pressure ch71...... :tu:

Ol Cowhunter was on two separate pure strainers, for four days straight, and was unable to seal the deal, even with my trusty scratcher :D Got to hunt my quota hunt on Fisheating Creek, but had to cut my trip short and was not able to continue on down to Big Cypress with the rest of the crew. Apparently, I developed a case of "Gout" in my right big toe. What a friggin b#tch. From what I am told, the 10lbs of crawfish(lobster) and shrimp, along with the other 10lbs of dolphin and snapper I consumed on this trip, may have contributed to the flare up :D Made hunting the last two days, as well as the ride home yesterday, difficult to say the least. Just got back from the foot docter with some inflamatory pills. We shall see. It is absolutely destroying me right now that I am not down there. Only the 2nd time since I started hunting alone, at around 9 years old, that I have missed an opening week at turkey camp in The Cypress. Completely sucks. Going to rest this foot up and hopefully be able to head down to Alabama next Wednesday. There was eight of us in camp on Fisheating Creek. My uncle and two friends where each able to kill Gobblers. They left out this morning for Cypress camp and will start hunting tomorrow. My cousin has been down there with a full blown Florida Sportsman Magazine googan crew since the opener. They've kilt two. He ran into Dave Owens and his crew down there Monday. They had killed two really good Gobblers in the first 2 days.

Kind of surprised that you didn't cut it off and roll on :D !

Hope it heals quickly for you!

I hunt in old school Converse Hightops down there to deal with water. Foot was so swollen and sore that I could not wear them Tuesday and was forced to hunt barefoot.
