opening day

Just wondering what time do you sneak into your tree stand on opening day

I have a hard time with this every year. About 15-30 minutes before FIRST LIGHT (not sunrise) Sunrise is 6:40 so civil twilite is about 6:10. I'll shoot to be sitting there ready at 5:45am. Dang that's early.

I plan to get up at 4:45AM and leave the house by 5AM and be at hunting land around 5:30AM and be climbed up the tree in my summit titan ready to rock and roll at 6AM...Might get up a little earlier to give myself a little more lead way.

I always seem to run 15-20 minutes behind where I want to be on opening day. I have also found that if I do run behind, it is best to walk in slowly instead of hurryly, I disturb less.

I'll be set up and ready 20-30 min before shooting light

be parking the truck about and hour and a half before DL or so
and up the tree prolly 15 min before DL

No really, up at 4:30. Leave my house at 5:00. At the lease at 5:45. In the tree at 6:15....

Opening morning, I'm usually in the stand an hour or so before daylight. Usually so excited that I am awake before the alarm goes off.

Baseball games :crazy: Might get out that afternoon. Wont know till schedule is posted next Wednesday...

But if it works out. Got a loaded persimmon tree on the edge of where a bean field and corn field meet. Two good shooter bucks have been hanging around there the past two weeks. Only if the wind will be right
