Wondering if anyone doesn't like using a vest. I'm getting tired of mine; its bulky, hot, uncomfortable sitting, and I hate moving the seat up and down. I've thought about ditching it for a small seat (like the gobbler lounger) and something like a fanny pack to keep my calls, gloves, and mask in. Anyone use something similar or have suggestions?

I have used a game belt for close to 20 yrs with four pouches (3 zippered, one bigger elastic opening) that I can slide some for when I am sitting in various positions.

I use one of the fixed-leg seats that I have my dekes bungeed to the bottom when I carry them.

In the big pouch, I have one of the orange carriers that wears like a backpack that I carry my bird out when successful.

Packed extra light this year, since my pants had no cargo pocket I used a hand warmer/fanny pack type thing to store gloves, TP, face net, keys etc and it had a zipper pouch that normally holds a hothands but I used I keep things safe in it. Camera case, tube and wingbone call, and binocs around my neck. Mouth call in right shirt pocket, wallet in left shirt pocket (buttoned shut). Tripod in left hand and gun in right hand. If I feel like carrying it, ill slip the carry loop from a butt cushion around my wrist so I can be more comfortable under a tree, but that's optional to me.

comfort is by biggest thing. Cannot sit still if you are not comfortable.

I will never use anything other than a BuckLick Creek vest. The self supporting system is awesome and it forms a V that you sit in.

I have the full vest but my buddy has the strap version.

I don't use a vest for the same reasons you stated. Have a belt pack that has a zippered main pouch and two zippered pouches for slate calls. Had it for years so I don't remember where I got it.

I would say the ol Tom overalls or pants but I got the overalls and tho I like the idea. With a slate call on each side of my chest and strikers its rather uncomfortable. I have found myself not wearing them any.
