Oxbow Cats

my great uncle was a commercial fisherman in Ridgley and fished the miss. oxbows at times. his main bait was crawfish but he was catching eater size channel cats and blues sometimes. you can catch channels on just about anything dead or alive. a lot of folks around here use worms or dip baits for them. blues and flatheads like cut fish, especially the bigger fish.

my granddad always fished for blues(white cats as he called them) and he always used rooster livers or turkey livers. i guess it mimicked the mussel meat when theyd start hitting the mussel beds. im interested in the chicken breast idea and will probably try it and see what happens.

Are you fishing to catch and eat? have you cked the warnings for the river your fishing? we have so many polluted water ways these days its hard to keep track of them :(
