Just north of Birmingham northbound on I-65. The back Trooper was a SUV; the front your typical SP cruiser. Lights and sirens on going 72-ish.
In between? Four very large Southeastern Motor Coach tour-type buses. Took up a good quarter mile of road in the leftmost lane (3-4 lanes total at that location). No one was willing to pass them so I did. Made driving very comfortable: They held back traffic behind us and people in front were going +75, so there was lots of room in the "shadow" they created. When was the last time you drove I-65 during the day and had no traffic +/- quarter mile front and back?
Why in the Sports subforum? I theorized that it was the Roll Tide football team on their way to their MS game this Saturday. But got home and now I see that it's an AL home game this Sat.; so doubt it was them.
Any other ideas? HS team, another college/university team; USMS ConBus? I barely outran them all the way north of Hartselle.
