I'm sitting in a GA swamp right now with several birds gobbling a mere 150 yards away that haven't moved an inch in almost 5 hours. They'll answer almost every call I make when I give them the chance.

This inspired me to pose the question how much patience and persistence do you have?

For me, I'll stick with them until dark or one dies. I'd reposition but it's virtually impossible to pull that off and I know they have a million hens with them waiting to nail me. So I'll just wait and hope another snake doesn't come visit

Until they go silent for more then an hour. If they are gobbling I'm staying period

I hate the cutoff times. I may be going to Missouri in late April. Figure it will bite me!

No they're on the part of this strip that gains elevation. A different bird lured me down here only to fly across the flooded bottom with his hens. In the meantime I got cut off by the current group who are still freaking here. I'lL sit here until dark and slip out of that's what it takes

Don't complain setterman, you are sitting in the woods all day listening to turkeys and I'm here at work all day....

Hope you get one

I ain't opposed to sitting a spell as long as I know a bird is still nearby with the knowledge that he can cover 150yards in about 10 seconds if he finally decides to break and come on in. At the same time, I reposition quite a lot on hung up birds with good success.

Reminds me of a bird years ago that gobbled his brains out but just wouldn't budge (except left and right). He finally lost interest and wandered off. I followed him and went 80 yards or so...old raggedy woven wire fence. :bash:

If you know they're still close by I'd sit too. As soon as you move you'll get busted. Take a nap and maybe get woken up by one gobbling really close. Cross your fingers and hope one makes a mistake. If not you'll know where to be in the morning.

I sit there till I kill him, spook him, dark, work, or other have to do's.

Well this morning I took out some serious revenge on my friends from yesterday, and yes in GA you can kill multiple in one day.
