Pattern Drop???

Have you ever noticed if your pattern drops as you shoot at farther distances?
I shot the mossberg last week at 35 yards and it was dead on!
I tried today at 45 just to see what kinda pattern I had and I was still holding a decent pattern but it was way low! I was gonna try a shot at 35 again but I ran out of shells. This happend with number 5s and number 6s shot.

yep, at 45-50 i have to aim right above the head. i put the bead about 2 inches above to hit the neck.

yeah mine is dead on up and down at 20 but at 40 it is way low. fine by me personally because i dont shoot that far but good to know

I have never noticed pattern drop with my turkey loads. I target shoot at 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards.

Would a shorter barrel cause a lower velocity?

I've seen it in rifles, but wasn't sure how much difference the shotgun would be with the smooth bore.

I thought of that but I don't know. My gun has a 26 or 28 inch barrel though.
