How many pellets should I expect out of a 3" shell at 30 yards?
I shot today and got about 70-80 in a 5 inch circle...
I shot at 15 yards for fun and blew a golf ball sized hole in the circle :D

Got any pics?

Sounds like average.... hard to say without something to look at..... you should polish or at the very least, deep clean your barrel.

This is what I look like at 30yrds with a 3" magnum blend

It's somewhere around 400 pellets of 5,6, and 7 shot and 2oz in weight. At 40yrds, it looks almost identical if it wasn't for the flinch I had. To say I am pleased is an understatement compared to what else I patterned.

you CANT polish a stoeger barrel or atleast it is not recommended. It has a chrome lined barrel so you really shouldnt do anything to mess it up. Same reason why you should not try and lengthen and polish the forcing cone on them.

as far as pattern i am not real sure the numbers for 30yds in a 5inch circle but yours sounds pretty good IMO. I know anything in the 150-250 range at 40yds in a 10inch circle is nothing to complain about.

when i shot mine last at 30yds before i switched chokes i had about 100 pellets in a 5-6inch circle. I am going to shoot mine this weekend and will post some pics.

10-4.... I am not familiar with the newer Stoeger shotguns as I am only a Remington shotgun man..... I can tell you about them... :D
