SMH talked me into upgrading my turkey rig, a Mossberg 835 and getting a new Rhino 660 Choke. Coupled with 3.5" Nitros, at 40 yds I am getting 70 pellets in the kill area of a HS Strut turkey target. I am not talking about all of the head area on that target in general, but just what shows on there as the bone, etc.

My 30 yd target just had too many to count.

Anybody else got this setup? What kind of patterns do you get?

I just bought an 835 last year but I'm shooting 3.5" federal flight control wad #5's and I'm just using factory choke and I'm getting similar results I took 3 long beards last year the is one of them so I don't think you will have any problems putting the smack down on an old thunderchicken Good Luck

What nitro are you shooting and are you shooting 457 or 7?I bought some h517 2 7/16in 4x5x7 but had to go to a 670 choke. It throws a good pattern but I would like to have the 2.25 in 7.It seems to throw the most pellet count at 40 yards.i don't want to shoot a baseball group at 20 yards though. My set up puts 250 in aa 10' circle at 40 and still throws a basket ball size group at 20 yards. Those 2.25 should put 300 and more at 40 yards.

Economy load. 4 and 5 copper plated lead and 7 hevishot

Carlos, I bought mine straight off their website.

501L 4cx5cx7h with .680 rhino is what im shooting in my 835 and im getting 300- 315 hits at 40 with around 65-70+ kill hits also
funny thing though is i had 2 shells left over from last year and a box of 10 from this year and had to do a huge sight adjustment!!!!! between last and this this years loads to get it on target.

was not a happy camper about that at all............
[font:Comic Sans MS]What might could explain this? Do you think there is as much difference in lot #s from year to year to cause a discrepancy? Or could your sights have been jarred out of zero?

Thanks
