First year turkey hunting and trying to get my shotgun dialed in. With the factory Full choke, results are less than impressive. Am I right in thinking I should be shooting a much smaller pattern at 30 yards?
Recommended choke for Winchester? (I have no problem buying several types of ammo to test, but don't want to buy several aftermarket chokes just to find what works best.) Any advice appreciated.
All targets are 3" black dot with a 2' circle, 12ga at 30 yards.

Winchester Turkey Load 3" #6 (5 pellets in the black)

Remington Nitro 3" #5 (8 pellets in the black)

I shoot a Benneli with a gobble stopper choke and I only shoot Federal mag shock flight control #6, 3.5in. I have tried two other chokes and always come back to the GS. You can kill one with that choke you have pics of but tightening it up will get more shot in the kill zone and extent that range out. I killed one today over 55 yrds.

hope this helps.

Thanks for the info.
Picked up Federal Mag-Shok ammo and a Gobble Stopper choke.
What a difference! My 30yd shots are now tighter than my old 20yd with factory Full choke.
One thing you didn't mention to expect, is that combination knocked the snot out of me! I've fired a lot of weapons, but for some reason this one about dislocated my shoulder. And least you think I'm a wimp, my buddy was helping me out and tried a shot. Didn't want to go back for another, and he is 6'4" and 300lbs!
This is now my "go to" combination. Thanks much.
