So I have read about lining your peep sight up with the outer ring of your sights.(of course the light turned on in my head when I read this. i was thinking well duhh dummy that makes perfect sense.) The problem is I cant see the whole sight threw my peep sight. Is that what there talking about when the front sight disappears your there or should I be able to see the outer ring? Im a new shooter just trying to figure it out because I want to get better.

Well, it's gonna depend on different factors, including your personal preferences. For me, I like being able to see the entire sight ring (just barely) when I look through my peep. Having a smaller peep (with less of the sight visible) will result in better accuracy, but you'll have a tougher time acquiring your target - especially in low light.

I would make sure that your peep sight is in the proper location and that your stance and anchor are correct before you even try to decide if the peep is big enough. If I anchor too low and lower my head to look through the peep, I can't see the sight ring at all when I center the pin.

Like jw stated, alot of it is your personal preference on the size of the peep. Personally, I like a 3/16" peep which allows enough light for good target aqcuisition and barely enough room for the ring on the sight to be just inside the ring of my peepif the ring of the sight isn't visible in my peep then I'm not properly anchored.

As far as the sight disappearing, I think you are getting that confused with which one do you focus on, the target or the pin. If you focus on the target, the sight will disappear, or get fuzzy, and if your shooting with both eyes open, which you should, then the fuzzy light from the pin will be over the target.

Thanks guys. Tndeer guy I made that confusing sorry. The sights themselves don't disappear just the outer ring. When im where im supposed to be with everything lined up I can't see the outer ring at all. I guess what I am asking has already been answered because I didn't know there were different size peep sights. Maybe ill keep practicing with what I have for now and maybe change the size of my peep later if I feel the need. My groups are good up to 40 yards but could always be better. Thanks for the help.

I do not mean to beat this to death, but I will suggest again, look at the anchor site by Archery Innovations and just say NO to peep sights.

Get a bigger peep....no matter the size your eye will always adjust to line the pin up in the center of whatever size peep you use.

Headhunter I looked at the anchor site and it looks interesting. I assume you use this sight and like it. What are the pros and cons in your opinion? I watched there video but don't believe advertising all the time. That's why I like this site because its real people and real hunters giving advice. To a new hunter like myself that is a big help. Your time will be appreciated because im interested in this. Thanks again

I just put one on my bow. It's awesome not having to use a peep sight and makes my pins so much easier to see.

There are a lot of pros.

Here are a few things that concern me.
1) Rain or moisture fogging the unit up
2) It seems a bit delicate. They have an aluminum housing model, but the "lens" is still plastic.
3) It takes a while to actually get it sighted in. I posted on another thread to allow an hour.
4) You need to have your shooting form down, with a solid anchor point. Work on being able to draw, and anchor with your eyes closed and when you open them, you're very close to your natural anchor point.
5) One of the things they advertise is that it will show you when you torque your bow. i had a concern that if you torque it during setup, you'll torque always. So, make sure you have your bow placed correctly in your hand, during setup.

Ok, my common theme, allow patience during your setup.

I also placed mine above my sight housing, so I would be able to see under it. But that is personal preference.

One of the big things about the company is that I sent and asked a TON of email questions and someone name Lynn answered all of them. And quickly...

I'm interested to see what headhunter says.

Rain won't bother it.
I hope it is tough.
Took me about 10 minutes to sight mine in.
Don't know about my shooting form.
It will show how tight or loose you grip the bow.
Mine is under the sight.

Lynn is great.

The concept of how it works interest me. Im a new shooter that's still getting used to the basics do you think it would be wise for me to change to that in the middle of season or wait? I tend to pick up on things fairly quickly but still seems sketchy to change during season. But im alwaysa up forI a challenge lolThanks for y'alls time again.

Mark your string with white paint marker, then quarter of an inch stipe with black and line string up with pins, throw peep away.
