I'm looking into changing my sight after this season. What experiences do you guys have regarding the different set ups I listed (pendulum, 3 pin, 5 pin)? Currently I use a 3 pin but am wondering about trying a new set up....

You now have the floor gentlemen!

Your thouhgts and experiences please.

Same here ! I love the simplicity of a single pin moveable sight . I lock mine down at 25 yards and I'm good out to 35 yards with a little elevation .

Most bow shots are less than 25 yards , so speed isn't much of a factor . I have done polls on several forums with hundreds of votes , and the average killing shot distance is less than 25 for whitetail deer .
I have been bow hunting for. 32 years now , and I can count on one hand the number of deer I have killed over 30 yards . In that case , a single pin moveable sight is not at a disadvantage .
If you are hunting in open areas where longer shots are common , a single pin moveable sight might not be the best choice .

I agree strongly with you Radar, all my experiences have been under 40 yards. The areas I hunt are mix woods (hard/pine) and doing a long 40+ will be a random occurance. So what is the difference between a pendulum verses fixed single pin? Does the pendulum give a better refence for treestand angle shots?

I haven't used a pendulum sight in 15 years . I see no need for them . Bend at the waist , keep good form , aim low on nervous deer .

i currently shoot a copper johns dead nuts pro hunt 2, i have however shot a pendlum site an was very unhappy with it the 1 i had was only accurate out to 30 yards for some reason and on ground was only 20 with out compisating! now the newer pendilum sites ive never shot but have looked at u can adjust the range by finger tip looks pretty interesting! ive shot single pin up to 5 pin i perfer 5 pin as of now!
