For years I've heard hunting the Midwest on or around Halloween day is excellent hunting. In 3 days saw over 40 does and 17 bucks. On Halloween morning my buddy killed 146" 10 point. That afternoon I see a big up the ridge making scrape. Grunted few times to which he didn't care. Tickling the horns he came to 32 yds turned broadside after drinking a little bit of water. I take aim and missed. Honestly, I wanted to cry. The next morning we're moving everywhere with some young bucks chasing. I was excited about the afternoon hunt only to see three days until 5:50 when he popped up making a rub. Did some light grunting he walked to the exact spot. I missed the day before. This time I hit them. Well after a long tracking job we find him.

Taxidermist scored him 159-2/8", 5.5 years old over 200 lbs field dressed, glad my buddy hung around, it damn near killed us dragging him out
