After much deliberation I went ahead and ordered a 60# Bowtech Captain in Next FLX camo. I went with the 60# limbs after a few days drawing my old Pearson set on 68# and the discomfort(not really pain, just uncomfortable) made me realize that I wasn't 25 anymore. Now I just have to wait.

good choice if'n it felt good to ya
thats what happened when i got my guardian

and yes binary cams are tuff but results are good
( usually )

I got a phone call today from the archery shop. There has been a death in their family, so the person that runs the archery dept. may be off for some time. Bowtech will not begin the order without having half for a down payment. That's not a problem except that it will be Friday before I can get back in there. Then there will be a 3 week wait for delivery. I will probably just go ahead and get a 70# Friday. I'm really wanting to shoot.

Do not get a 70lb. bow if your having discomfort shooting around that weight. Remember a bow shoots best at max weight. Surely there's another dealer around that could place the order for you. From personal experience, buy what you want or you'll end up buying twice.

I saw a 60# black one on AT. I'd check there and ebay. The situation you are in is exactly why I don't fool with dealers anymore. The mom n pop stores don't seem like they can handle the demand for quick service. The last time I went to a dealer to have a D-loop and a peep served in, that was it. I drove over an hour and I was told I would have to leave the bow. For a d-loop and peep, and how the heck are you gonna get my peep set with out me there. That is when I decided to learn to do it myself. Sorry for the rant.

I went with a 60 lb. draw weight on my HCA speed Pro that has a similar cam design and I'm glad I did . It has an aggressive draw cycle .
If you are having shoulder problems at 68 lbs. , shooting a 70 lb. bow with an aggressive draw cycle will do you in. It's better to shoot a 60 lb. bow maxed out , than a 70 lb. bow backed off to a lower draw weight . Bows shoot better and are more efficient at their peak draw weight.

congrats on getting new bow but get what fits you, even if it takes a little longer to get here.

Wait on the 60. Great advice from the guys here. I weigh 350 and stand 65 and am pretty strong! I shoot right at 60 lbs. I shot seventy the year before last and was down with injury to shoulder and elbow for a whole season. Don't risk it. If you order the 60 you can drop down to the 50s if still irritated. Order a 70 and your stuck.
