I think the committee got it right this time. Ohio State vs Clemson is going to be a very good game. I'm picking Clemson vs LSU in the Championship with LSU bringing home the trophy.

You never know what will happen, especially in one game but to me LSU & OSU seem to be a cut above everybody else.

I think bowl games are the biggest joke and biggest waste of those there is . Why people get hyped for them I haven't a clue . Might as well hand them a participation trophy and say thanks for playing because that is exactly what it is .

PDB, I'm the one who made the Citrus Bowl comment not TDW.

Bowl games other than the playoffs are glorified exhibition but you're missing a couple things. First, the chance for inter-regional and conference smack talk as Gator said. More importantly, those extra practices are key for player development. Even Alabama benefits from player development.

Actually one Vol said he would rather them not get the extra practices. But I think he was just playing down not making a bowl game.

You're right about the holes in the defense, but I've been pretty impressed with the way they've played in the last two games. If they do find the holes in the defense and score....well, I don't worry an awful lot about Joe putting points on the board this season...if it comes to a shootout.

To me any game between any two of the teams ranked 1-3 will/would be a good one. OK also has a chance to make their game interesting as well, at least for a while.

I don't agree that if anything other than the playoffs is a waste of time or a joke. There may be too many bowl games and that some of them are not good match ups. But at least it gives us more games to watch and extends the season. Second, it's a good money maker for the teams and conferences as it also helps other sports and those teams without unlimited budgets. There's also the chance to support your team, conference, etc. and not to mention all those players getting a chance to play in a bowl on national tv against a team they otherwise wouldn't get to.

There are thousands of players that put thousands of hours of blood and sweat to play that will never see a playoff game as a player. Should 98-99% of all players just give up and quit because there team has no chance. With this line of thought why have the 100+ D1 teams that never or rarely compete for a title. Plus why bother with D2, D3, JUCO and NAIA? All these athletes just wasting there time too? Using y'alls line of thought 99% of high school, middle school and younger kid playing football should just quit since they're just waste and a joke for nothing more than a participation trophy. I guess every little kid that's not the best of the best should just take their ball and go home and pout.

I can't root for OU no matter how much I like Jalen....I still think the LSU/Orgeron story is great, and I am an SEC fan so I'd like to see them win it all. If they play like they did against GA, no one will come close to beating them.
