TN still better than Bammer. Plus nicky would slide under the table to get his Bammers in the playoff and @PillsburyDoughboy would take one for the team for nicky. Hell I bet @prestide would also

Because u could make a great argument for why teams 5- 8 should be in there but realistically none of those are going to be National Champions this year. They just don't have it.

Some years are more cut and dry than others as well. Sometimes there's a clear front runner. But sometimes I feel like #3 or #4 may not be as good as a lower ranked team just because of schedule. But usually #1 or #2 came out of the conference that a better 5 or 6 are in and they have already settled things in regular season

I don't think a great argument could ever be made for a 5-8 team making the playoffs. It's like some high school teams with 1 or 2 wins get in and then get killed.

I agree and there are definitely better teams year in and year out in the SEC with 2 maybe 3 losses that could give it a run for the money. There's just got to be a cutoff somewhere and no matter where that is somebody won't be happy.
 
Not the vols this year. But I would like to see 8 teams in the playoff. It would get rid of some and raise some up regarding claims of committee bias. But true there has to be a limit. 8 bout the max I think. YOU aint in the top 8 then making a run next year. Do not want to get to everybody gets a participation trophy.

Looking at the NCAA rankings this morning. The #9 team would be whining like a whimp. LOL
